Set in a beautiful landscape, the private cultural foundation Jakober was created in 1993 by the British artist couple Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu. The main houses the Karlweis Wing, where the largest collection in the world of paintings, sculptures and drawings by Domenico Gnoli are on show. There are also works by Fabrizio Plessi, Alan Rath, Miralda, Meret Oppenheim, Takis and Ben Jakober, Yannick Vu. The exhibition "Nins" offers not only interesting aspects of the art of the portrait painting from the 16th to the 19th century, it also shows the world of the children from the different periods. The Sokrates hall aims to become a space for reflection featuring tribal masks in dialogue with contemporary works by Dolores Vita and M.Barceló amongst others. Located on the southside of the Tramontana Mountains only 30 minutes from Palma, the CCA Andratx art centre is dedicated to the creation and exhibition of contemporary art. To the general public it offers a unique cultural experience, whereas the studio program is open to national and international artists. Built at the beginning of the 20th century by the great Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, the four-story building's sculpted facade is the best example of modernism on the island. This Archaeology museum is located in an old Franciscan monastery, a late 17th century Baroque building.
