Sa Bassa Blanca Museum - Fundación Yannick y Ben Jakober

Set in a beautiful landscape, the private cultural foundation Jakober was created in 1993 by the British artist couple Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu. The main houses the Karlweis Wing, where the largest collection in the world of paintings, sculptures and drawings by Domenico Gnoli are on show. There are also works by Fabrizio Plessi, Alan Rath, Miralda, Meret Oppenheim, Takis and Ben Jakober, Yannick Vu. The exhibition "Nins" offers not only interesting aspects of the art of the portrait painting from the 16th to the 19th century, it also shows the world of the children from the different periods. The Sokrates hall aims to become a space for reflection featuring tribal masks in dialogue with contemporary works by Dolores Vita and M.Barceló amongst others. At Sa Bassa Blanca Museum, Finca Sa Bassa Blanca, Es Mal Pas, Alcudia. Times: Closed on Sundays, Mondays and public holidays. Tuesdays are open days with no entry fee for Nins and the Sculpture Park. Fort Malborough was built by the British in the late 18th century and was named after Sir John Churchill, the Duke of Malborough. Now open as a museum, this fascinating seven-sided building was subject to many attacks but amazingly was never destroyed. Guided tours last for approximately 1 hour. Location: Cala Sant Esteve. This Archaeology museum is located in an old Franciscan monastery, a late 17th century Baroque building. The heritage preserved by this centre is an invitation to take a journey through the history of the island of Menorca by means of the materials discovered.
