Spanish Red Cross (Cruz Roja)The Spanish Red Cross provides help for drug addicts and their families, people affected by HIV, immigrants and the elderly. It runs assistance centres for drug addicts and their families. The centres offer emergency and psychological help, a meeting place and a shelter. Further services include social integration classes and first aid courses, assistance in finding accommodation, treatment for drug addiction and mobile methadone units. Helping minors is a special priority.
Alcoholics AnonymousAA Spain is the website for the English-speaking Alcoholics Anonymous network in Spain.
There is good support for those living in the Balearics with many Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in English. There is also information about who to contact if there are no meetings in English in your area.

Alas: Balearics Islands Association for the Fight Against AIDS (Asociación de Lucha Anti-Sida de las Islas Baleares) is an organisation offering support and information on AIDS with offices in Mallorca and Ibiza.
Cancer SupportCancer Care in the Balearics is usually handled by the main hospitals on each of the islands. They provide help and support for relatives as well as patient care. A central support team is available for more information and support:
The Ibiza and Formentera Cancer Association (Asociación Ibiza Y Formentera contra el Cancer) provides financial help to cancer sufferers and also works to make people aware of the dangers of excessive sunlight, smoking and unhealthy diets.
The Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (Asociación de Padres de niños con cancer de Baleares) helps and gives support to children with cancer and their families.

Parent & Children Support GroupsPlease note that there is no guarantee that English will be spoken. The Association for Parents of Children with Attention Deficit Disorder (Asociación STILL) provides help and support to parents. The Association of Parents of Children with Down Syndrome (Asociación Síndrome de Down de Baleares) works with people with Down Syndrome and their families.
