Bus Services in the Balearics

Details and contact information on the regional and city bus transport system.

Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera are served by urban buses. Generally, information on routes and timetables is available from the main bus station (usually located in the centre of town) and on local bus stops. A map of the bus routes is also often on the bus stop itself. Many bus companies operate out of the central bus stations. Be aware that routes, prices and timetables are subject to change.

The public transport coverage is good in the urbanised centres but can be quite sporadic in rural villages. Most public buses are new and air-conditioned.

Below is information on bus services in Mallorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera, as well as information on bus connections with local airports.

Mallorca Buses

Balearic Islands Transport (Transport de les Illes Balears - TIB) provides an extensive network of public buses throughout Mallorca and also operates the single line Palma Metro. TIB has an English-language website which includes downloadable PDF files with route information.

EMT (Empresa Municipal de Transports de Palma de Mallorca) is responsible for bus services in the City of Palma and its surroundings. The website, in English, has interactive maps showing all routes. EMT also runs a Palma night bus.
